Free Online Sobriety Support During Covid-19
/Tensions are high and uncertainty looms. I believe we are all collectively feeling the fear and anxiety that Covid-19 has unexpectedly brought into our lives. We see devastating photos and videos on the news and social media, and we hear scary numbers, and we worry. For those of us who have committed to being alcohol-free or those of you who may have just started your journey, times are tough. I’ve been receiving messages and have seen posts that say with rising anxiety, many people want to, or have thought about, drinking.
Fortunately, our community has really stepped up during this difficult time and many people are offering free online gatherings for people in or seeking recovery who are looking for support. I’ve put together a list for you all, so you have access over the coming weeks while we put social distancing into practice and flatten the curve of this virus.
Unity Recovery (Philadelphia) offering All Recovery meetings
All Recovery meetings are positive, non-denominational mutual aid meetings open to anyone. The meetings will be held on zoom and available to anyone to attend. You can join any day of the week at 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, and 9PM EST at https://unityrecovery.zoom.us/my/allrecovery
In The Rooms Meetings
In the Rooms is a global online recovery platform that hosts a wide variety of live recovery meetings. They have several fellowships of 12-step including AA, NA, Codependency Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, and Marijuana Anonymous. They also offer weekly She Recovers meetings, LifeRing, Women in Recovery, Recovery Dharma, Trauma and Recovery, Soul Recovery, and Life Recovery (Christian-based) meetings. Plus they just created a Coronavirus support meeting to deal with the stress surrounding the virus.
